The City of Novato has been a sustainability leader for many years and was one of the first cities in Marin to adopt a Climate Action Plan. Since that time, we have made great strides in greening our operations including converting more than 4,000 streetlights to energy-efficient LEDs and switching over to Deep Green 100% renewable energy at all of our facilities.

As part of our Sustainability Program, we are introducing a range of education and outreach programs to support our residents, businesses and schools to reduce their environmental impact with a focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions. These programs highlight practical, everyday solutions, in addition to increasing awareness of the urgent need to act on climate change.

For our part, we'll be adding electric vehicles to our fleet, retrofitting several municipal buildings to be more energy and water efficient, reducing the environmental impact of our purchasing decisions, exploring options to increase municipal solar electricity generation, and rolling out a green commute program for our staff.

We know that lasting change happens at the local level and we look forward to partnering with you to address our changing climate.
